St. John’s Chop House to permanently close its doors

This is very sad for us. We have had 11 smashing years there and so you can imagine this has been a very tough decision to make. The present crisis has put pay to the refurbishment we had planned and we feel that this is the right move at this stage.

Thank you so much to you wonderful people who have supported it over the years. I’m hoping many of you will have very happy memories of the place, we certainly have. It’s a building which has seen many changes over its life time. It was originally built under the will of Edward Storey as Almshouses (c1729). We are hoping its next incarnation will do justice to the fine building. Thank you to St. John’s College who have agreed to take it back from us with the minimum of fuss.

Naturally we thank the many people who have worked under our tenure there and made the place the success it was. The present team will remain in the employment of Cambscuisine. You will likely see them at one of our other establishments, hopefully soon!

Best wishes,

All at Cambscuisine
